The origins of the PRE horse
The history of the Pura Raza Española dates back to Roman times. The breed was developed over centuries on the Iberian Peninsula. Today the breed is managed by the ANCCE (Asociación Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Pura Raza Española). Only horses with an ANCCE studbook registration may carry the PRE name.
ANCCE registration: why does it matter?
